Configure Maya IPTV: Complete Settings Guide

Guide updated August 24, 2026 — covers the entire Settings menu (Android, Android TV, Windows, iOS).

Maya IPTV groups all its settings under the Settings tab. This reference guide walks through every option: connections (Xtream Codes and Stalker Portal), VPN, profiles, parental code, video player, cast, theme, language, subtitles and downloads — explaining what each one does and which value to pick.

Maya IPTV is a media player — it does not provide, host or sell any content or subscription. You connect using your own subscription (Xtream Codes, Stalker Portal) or your own playlist.

Account & email verification

Right at the top of Settings, your avatar, username and email are shown. If your address hasn't been confirmed yet, an "Email not verified" banner appears with a Resend button that sends the verification email again. Confirming your address secures your account and password recovery.

IPTV connections

The heart of the configuration. Settings › Connections lists your accounts; the selected connection carries the "Active" badge. Tap a card to activate it, or Add a connection to create a new one.

Connection type

Xtream Codes — the most common standard. You enter the server URL, a username and a password. Tip: the "M3U / Xtream Link" field accepts a get.php URL pasted as-is and automatically fills in the server, username and password. See our guide Set Up Xtream Codes for details.

Stalker Portal — for MAG portal subscriptions. You enter the portal URL (e.g. http://example.tld/c) and a MAC address (e.g. 00:1A:79:XX:XX:XX).

A free-text "Connection name" lets you tell multiple accounts apart. When you save, the app tests the credentials; if it fails, you can Fix it or Save anyway.

VPN Android

Settings › Network › VPN (Android mobile and TV only; not available on Windows or iOS). Maya IPTV doesn't provide a VPN: it links to a VPN app you already have installed so you can launch it easily and get warned if it's disconnected.

If no VPN app is detected, install the one of your choice first, then come back to this screen.

Visible categories

From Settings › Visible categories (active connection) or a connection's ⋮ menu. Three tabs — Live, Movies, Series — list the categories, each with a checkbox: checked = visible, unchecked = hidden. The All / None buttons make bulk selection easy. Ideal for hiding categories you don't use and decluttering navigation. The setting is specific to each connection.

Profiles

Settings › Switch profile opens the "Who's watching?" screen (up to 6 profiles, Netflix-style). The Manage button switches to edit mode (tapping a profile opens it); Add profile creates a new one. A PIN-protected profile asks for its PIN when selected.

In the profile editor:

Note: the interface language is remembered per profile — each member of the household can have their own language.

Notifications Android / iOS

Settings › Notifications (hidden on Windows). Turns on match reminders and update notifications. Enabling it requests system permission; if it was permanently denied, a System settings shortcut opens the app's permissions page.

Parental code (Stalker)

Settings › Parental Code (Stalker). Enter your Stalker subscription's parental code (often 0000 by default), needed to access certain protected categories on the portal side. Leaving it blank clears the code.

Downloads

Downloads — opens the manager (progress, offline files).

Download location — chooses where videos are saved: Internal storage (default) or an SD card / USB drive if one is present. Only volumes accessible without a sensitive permission are offered (store compliance).

Video player

External player — defaults to "Built-in player". On Android you can hand playback off to VLC, MX Player, Just Player, Vimu Player or "Other player…" (chosen at launch). On Windows: built-in player, VLC (auto-detected) or an .exe of your choice.

Video decodingAutomatic (recommended) by default. Force Hardware to take load off the CPU, or Software if a stream displays incorrectly (corrupted frames) on a low-power device.

Cast mode (Chromecast)

Settings › Cast mode. Some streams (raw MPEG-TS, MP2 audio, interlaced video) can't be played as-is by a Chromecast receiver. Maya IPTV can remux them on the phone to make them compatible.

Good to know: Chromecast casting requires Google Play Services on the device. It therefore works on phones/tablets, but not on Fire TV / Firestick (which lack Play Services).

Display & theme

Grid columns — number of tiles per row in catalogs: 2, 3, 4 or 5 (default 3).

Theme — two independent settings. Accent color: Neon Violet (default), Cinema Red, Electric Blue, Emerald, Amber/Gold, Magenta. Background: Deep Black (default), Pure AMOLED Black (for OLED screens), Midnight Blue. The choice applies immediately.

Language

Settings › Language. The interface is available in Français, English, Українська, العربية, Deutsch, Português, Español, Italiano, plus "System language", which follows the device's language. Arabic switches the entire interface to right-to-left mode. The choice is remembered per profile.

Network & User-Agent

Settings › Network › User-Agent. The identifier the app presents to servers. Some servers only accept a specific User-Agent. Ready-made values: IPTVSmartersPro (default), okhttp/5.0.0-alpha.2 (recommended for Stalker), VU IPTV Player, VLC/3.0.18, TiviMate/4.7.0, a Chrome/Windows User-Agent, or "Custom…" to enter your own. If you hit an unexplained access error, switching the User-Agent often fixes the problem.

Gesture controls

Settings › Advanced Player › Gesture controls (on by default). Enables adjusting volume, brightness and seek forward/backward with finger swipes in the player.

Subtitles

OpenSubtitles (automatic search)

Settings › Subtitles. Turn on OpenSubtitles to search for subtitles online (the toggle stays greyed out until a key is entered). In OpenSubtitles Configuration: enter your API key (required), and optionally your OpenSubtitles credentials (optional, raises the quota — 5 subtitles/day without an account, 20 with one, up to 1000 for VIP).

Display settings (from the player)

During playback, the subtitle overlay offers a live preview, a Reset button and three tabs:

Reset settings

Right at the bottom of Settings, Reset settings restores every option to its default value (3-column grid, IPTVSmartersPro User-Agent, gestures enabled, automatic decoding, Auto cast, OpenSubtitles disabled…) after confirmation. Your connections and profiles are not deleted by this action.
